Port Jio to Airtel, How to Port Jio to Airtel?

Airtel offers both prepaid and postpaid Mobile Number Portability (MNP) services.

According to the latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Airtel surpassed Reliance Jio in terms of new wireless subscribers in October. Airtel is one of the largest telecom providers in the country. Airtel offers a variety of programs in addition to its streaming service, Airtel Xstream. Prepaid and postpaid connections range from inexpensive options to more expensive, feature-rich plans. Consequently, if you wish to transfer from Jio to Airtel, you can utilize the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service that Airtel offers.

How to Port Jio to Airtel

Like other service providers, Airtel offers an MNP feature that allows consumers to transfer service providers without changing their numbers. We have compiled a detailed guide on how to share your existing Jio mobile number to a prepaid or postpaid Airtel service.

How to transfer your prepaid mobile number from Jio to Airtel

If you are searching for a prepaid connection, Airtel’s website features two plans that allow you to transfer your mobile number. The Rs 297 plan includes 1.5GB of data daily, unlimited calling for 28 days, and 100 SMS daily. The program also includes Airtel Xstream and Wynk Music subscriptions. The Rs 497 plan provides 56 days of validity, 1.5GB per day, 100 SMS per day, unlimited calling, and Airtel Xstream and Wynk Music subscriptions. Airtel also promises doorstep KYC service (depending on the location), same-day delivery of your new SIM, and fast activation. Follow these procedures to migrate your Jio (or other service provider) number to Airtel:

  • Navigate to the Airtel website.
  • The two plans are located on the left side of the page. Choose whichever option you prefer.
  • On the right, you will see a form that asks for your name, mobile number, and whether you want to migrate or get a new connection.
  • Confirm that the Port is selected.
  • Provide your address.
  • Click the Submit button.

You will be reminded to keep your address and identification available to deliver your SIM card. Additionally, you can monitor your new SIM using the Airtel Thanks app. The only requirements are simply obtaining the app from Google Play or the App Store and signing in with your port-in number. You will then be able to monitor your new SIM in real-time. The app also allows you to activate the new SIM card.

How to transfer your Jio mobile number to Airtel’s postpaid service

Airtel provides two postpaid plans to consumers wishing to transfer. The Rs 499 plan includes 75GB of monthly data, unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day, and additional benefits such as a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime Video, Airtel Xstream, and Disney+ Hotstar VIP. The Rs. 999 ‘For Me and My Family plan provides 150GB of monthly data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a complimentary add-on connection. You gain access to identical subscription services.

To convert to Airtel postpaid, you must:

  • Click the Buy button for either of the two listed plans.
  • Ensure the radio button labeled Switch to Airtel (with the same number) is selected on the form to the right.
  • Provide your name, cell phone number, city, and address.
  • Click the Submit button.

After clicking the Submit button, you should receive an SMS confirming your request and informing you that Airtel will contact you momentarily. The following page will remind you to have your address and identification available and to expect a call for a replacement SIM card.

Alternatively, you can physically submit an MNP request at a nearby Airtel store.
