According to The Kerala Registration of Marriages (Common) Rules, 2008, the Keralan government has made marriage registration mandatory. The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or the Special Marriage Act, 1954 may be used for registration. Eligibility Requirements

  • The bride must be at least 18 years old, while the groom must be at least 21.
  • Certificates of physical and mental health must be presented together with the application.

  • The pair must be cohabitating at the time of application.

Kerala’s online marriage registration application process:

  • Visit https://cr.lsgkerala.gov.in/Index.php.
  • Choose the Registration of Marriages option under the papers menu.
  • Click on “Online Form Submission” on the left-hand side of the screen now.
  • Click on submit after choosing your local body and district from the drop-down option.
  • There will be a login screen. If you haven’t signed up yet, do so first before using your user name and password to log in.
  • Complete the application and upload the relevant papers and images in scanned form.
  • Then send in the application.
  • Your marriage certificate will be issued upon verification.

  • Print the form in A4 size after downloading it.
  • To finish the application, fill the application form and attach all necessary papers before submitting it to the sub-registrar’s office.
